October 15, 2025

Even though the Karunalaya Training Center building itself was finished and inaugurated back in May, it's taken months to get it officially up and running.  Invertors and generators have had to be put in place so that it can host people and function at a basic level.  In India, as well as in many countries, these details often don't happen overnight and its been months of setbacks and persistence to get things done and in place.  India has also had a very big rainy season.  The dams in other parts of India have released water to compensate and because of that, the rivers have swollen causing consequential flooding in different parts of India.  There has been much water damage to the roads leading to the new center and road repairs have had to be made.  But they are now moving in! In other good news, a new after school tutorial center has been opened up!  Even more kids are getting the aftershool support that they need.

The new Karunalaya Training Center has finally been completed! There was a show of lights as the new building sparkled and beamed with excitement. About 400 people joined together for the inauguration ceremony this past week. Everyone is excited for how this building will be used for edcuation and training, creating new opportunities for growth and development.

We are excited to announce that KCT India has been able to open a new tutorial center in another rural village!  With this new center, more than 150 kids are now being offered after school help with their studies.  And for some of these children, this is their only education received. Even a basic education helps advance a child's future opportunities for employment and gaining important life skills.

One of the things that KCT USA makes possible for KCT India is the distribution of much needed supplies and materials.  Recently, KCT India was able to distribute sports equipment to use as a part of the enrichment program at their different tutorial centers and villages.

Happy New Year from India! We are all excitedly starting this new year with school supply distributions as we continue on with the after school programs in local villages and are receiving new students into these programs. We were also able to honor our after school teachers by gifting them with some special appreciation gifts at the end of the year. Thank you for all who help make this possible!

All the final finishing details for the Karunalaya Training Center are coming together! Furniture is being purchased and made; cabinets are going up; and final flooring is being laid. All should come to a final completion within the next couple of months.  A grand inauguration will be planned for later in 2025.

The busyness of the summer season has taken us all in different directions. We apologize for being out of touch for a bit. Parshu and team are keeping busy with their after school tutorials and it's been fun to see the kids at work and learning. For many, this is an opportunity to learn where in some cases there is no other school availability. This is especially true for the girls. We are thankful to provide opportunities to learn and grow....opening future doors for better and more diverse employment and future education. Thank you for your support of KCT USA as they support the Indian community abroad!

The new Training Center is progressing everyday. Floors are being laid, tile is going up and paint is being rolled on. It's exciting to see all these final details going into place. We think of Parshu as he manages all of these things. All these details can get overwhelming and going behind to supervise, even more overwhelming. It's coming together though!

We are thankful to have received trees to plant from our local government. Leading by example and encouraging our youth to think about taking care of our environment will last for generations to come.  We were able to plant trees for shade in two different communities.

Since the start of 2024 Parshu and his team have been training teachers and conversing with surrounding communties about opening up tuturial centers in surrounding rural villages.  So far we have opened up 5 new locations reaching children that don't have access to receiving an education.

With the last of the bricks just about put into place, the final stage of installing all the finishing details is underway.  We are excited to see this new training site come to a completion!  The projected finish date is the Fall of 2024. 

With this new center completed, KCT India will be able to host vocational training classes, community feeding programs and leadership academies.
